What is included in the Family Birth Attendant Service?
- A specially designed Birth Comfort Kit
- An energy transition assessment for mother and newborn, if requested
- Two pre-delivery visits with the birthing family
- One pre-delivery visit with the family to the obstetrician's office if requested
- On-call phone contact 24 hours a day for two weeks prior to due date and one week postpartum for advice, suggestions and support
- On-site presence for entire birth and up to two hours after delivery
- Breastfeeding preparationand assistance pre-delivery through one week postpartum
- Two post-delivery visits, one in the hospital and one at home within the first week postpartum
Cost for the Family Birth Attendant Services is as follows:
- $775 due upon signature of the letter of agreement of services
- Additional $225 for energy transition assessment, if requested
- $50 becomes a non-refundable administrative fee after payment is made
- For clients outside the Phoenix, AZ area, additional travel expenses will apply. Once airfare and/or lodging reservations are made, these become non-refundable.
Family Birth Attendant Services with Energy Transition Assessment
Limitations of the Family Birth Attendant:
- Clinical assessments or tasks such as vaginal exams, reading the fetal heart monitor, vital signs checks
- Speaking to the medical staff. The FBA will assist you to get the information you need to make informed decisions that you can convey to your medical care providers.
- Decision making. This is the responsibility of the birthing family. The FBA assumes no responsibility professionally or personally for the outcome of the birth.
